He went over to another table where people were seated with a dog wearing a service vest. He failed to understand that requiring a person to say “the dog warns me when I’m about to have a seizure“ or, “the dog warns me when my blood sugar starts to get out of control“ is requiring confidential medical information from the handler and is not allowed to be asked. He demanded to know the specific service. The owner asked what service the dog provided, and he was told, “medical alert“. The owner then came over and said “dogs are not allowed.“ The dog handler said that this is a service dog. The owner came out and started to move the fan and the patron who had adjusted it said something to him and they got into an animated discussion. Another patron sitting several tables away, got up and adjusted the fan so that it was blowing on our table, once again. The man declared that he was the owner of the restaurant and that we should leave the fan alone. One of our party asked why he would adjust the fan to blow at an empty table when there were patrons sitting at the next table that would like to have the comfort of the fan. A little later, he came out and turned the fan so that it was blowing toward the empty table, once again. A man came out and said that if somebody sat at the empty table, he would have to readjust the fan. a member of our party got up to turn the fan so that it would blow on our table. It was quite warm, and there was a fan situated so that it was blowing on an empty table next to us. dog that was wearing a vest and was in a canvas carrying bag that said “service dog“. A member of our party had a trained service. On the way in, we went past a 4 foot tall double placard that read,” service dogs welcome“. We went with a group of friends to shore longboat key for lunch yesterday. We finished with the cheesecake and choclate cake - definitely bakery-tasting worth!! The food was presented in a beautifully scrumptious manner and tasted just as wonderful.ĭefinitely a great find and worthy to anyone looking to have a fabulous meal, atmosphere, and friendly-staffed restaurant. We actually asked them to take their time serving, since it was a special night for us, and they again had no issue with accomodating the request. All were delightful and not served so quickly that we couldn't eat any more of it. We had the lobster-crab-shrimp cobb salad, scallops, Miso Grouper, and surf-n-turf. We had a lovely and memorable evening eating fabulous tapas and tasty drinks. was this done, but no feathers were ruffled either. My husband asked if we could move to an indoor table (from the outdoor balcony) and keep our waitress, Lainee (who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu). Shore is a VERY accomodating restaurant - we were here for our anniversary dinner.
